President's Message 2025/26
I am extremely proud and honoured to be elected and serve as the President of Wanderers FC. It is a privilege for me to lead this great club, which I joined in 1979, into the 2025/26 Season.
As we kick off a brand-new season of rugby with our return to AIL Division 2A, it will be both exciting and challenging. I would like to extend a warm welcome back to everyone involved in our incredible club, whether you're putting on the jersey, coaching a team, cheering from the sidelines, or volunteering behind the scenes, a big thank you. You are the heart and soul of Wanderers FC.
Last season brought us many challenges and triumphs, and I'm incredibly proud of how our teams, both on and off the field, represented our club. This season we continue to build on that legacy. We've put in the work during the off-season, training hard and laying the groundwork for a competitive season ahead. I encourage every player to take pride in the crest, play for each other, and never forget the unique bond that rugby creates. Set the standard, support one another, and enjoy every minute on the field.
For our new players and members, a very big welcome. To all our underage players, you are the future of Wanderers and we're excited to watch you grow in skill, confidence and character. To our returning seniors and veterans, your leadership and experience are invaluable. Off the pitch, we remain committed to making this club a welcoming and inclusive place for all. Rugby is more than just a game, it's a community, a family, and a place where lifelong friendships are forged. A Club for Life.
I extend my sincere gratitude, in advance, to our dedicated Executive Committee and all the tireless club volunteers. Their unwavering commitment and countless hours of effort are the lifeblood of Wanderers FC, without which, it would simply not be possible to operate. From maintaining our facilities, to organising events, coaching our teams, and managing the day-to-day operations, their contributions are truly invaluable.
The running of a rugby club is a business, so I encourage all members to consider dedicating some of their time and skills to assist in the smooth and successful running of the club. Whether it's helping with administrative tasks, lending a hand on match days, or offering expertise in any capacity, every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a significant difference and strengthens the fabric of our community.
Finally, to all our talented players across every age group and to our dedicated team management, I wish you all an exciting, challenging, and immensely enjoyable season filled with memorable moments, personal growth, and collective success both on and off the field. May your efforts be rewarded with thrilling victories and the unwavering spirit of sportsmanship. Here's to a successful, safe, and enjoyable season. Let's make it one to remember.
